New York meets Chicago in this eclectic evening of contemporary music presented by Composers Concordance at The CheckOut.
Known for its adventurous, genre-defying concerts, Composers Concordance brings together composers and performers from both cities for a dynamic program that blurs the lines between classical, jazz, experimental, and improvisatory music.
Featuring works by Natasha Bogojevich, Seth Boustead, David Keller, Matt A. Mason, Gene Pritsker, and Amy Wurtz, the concert showcases a wide range of musical voices and styles, performed by the composers themselves alongside guest artists.
Expect an intimate, energetic evening of new music that celebrates collaboration, spontaneity, and the creative connections between Chicago and New York.

A coming-of-age cabaret for a 40-year old theater kid.
Join Anna Caldwell and special guests for a whimsical cabaret celebrating her 40th birthday!
Through songs and stories, Anna explores what it means to be middle-aged, and how entering this phase of life reshapes your dreams, deepens your perspective, and invites you to take in the view from here.
The show features original songs by Michael Oldham, created in collaboration with Anna Caldwell. The program also includes music by Jonathan Larson, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Bock and Harnick, and more.
This special performance is a fundraiser for NAMI Chicago.
After guest artists are compensated for sharing their talents, all net proceeds will be donated to NAMI Chicago, the Chicago affiliate of National Alliance on Mental Illness, which provides free mental health support, education, and resources to individuals and families throughout the Chicago area.

Musical performance by bw3. bw3 is the brainchild of trombonist and electronic artist Brendan Whalen. After moving to Chicago in 2015 to study music with some of the city’s finest musicians, the 29-year-old transplant became frustrated with the boundaries of traditional music and has made it a mission to break them down ever since. Fusing jazz, hip hop, and funk with ambient, electronic, and hard rock, bw3 has something for everybody and never fails to create a unique sonic experience.

Dynamic Duos- Emma Taylor and Steve Million

Emma Taylor is a bassist, vocalist, and educator based in Chicago. Emma has played with renowned musicians such as Brian Lynch, Carl Allen, Jim Snidero, Gary Smulyan, Troy Roberts, Joel Spencer, and Ben Markley. Aside from playing in the US, Emma has also toured throughout South America, Cuba, and Mexico—most recently completing a two week-long residency performing and teaching classes in Brazil at the Federal University of Uberlândia.
Steve Million, a 1988 finalist in the internationally renowned Thelonious Monk Piano Competition , has long been a staple of the Chicago jazz scene, working with artists such as Randy Brecker, saxophonists Chris Potter and Dick Oatts, and legendary bassist Michael Moore.
