Voice and piano duo Ryan De Ryke and Daniel Schlosberg have been working with composer Doug Lofstrom since 2017 to record Lofstrom’s vocal music. The first selection of this was released in 2025 on the album “Myths and Accidents,” on Diversions/Divine Art Records. Tonight’s program includes works from that recording, several of Lofstrom’s new songs and selections from the American songbook featuring the duo with Lofstrom on bass.

Suzanne and Jonathan’s dog, Hildegard Von Borken, underwent life saving surgery back in February (It was a success!) and have decided to put on a concert to help raise funds for her vet bills. They will present an eclectic spread of music written and inspired by Hildegard Von Bingen (The mystic Saint their dog is named after). This will also include the premiere of Jonathan’s set of songs written for Suzanne titled “3 Virtues” which uses chant and text from Hildegard’s “Ordo Virtutum”. Come and help support one of the goodest dogs in the city all while listening to some amazing music!

Emma Taylor is a bassist, vocalist, and educator based in Chicago. Emma has played with renowned musicians such as Brian Lynch, Carl Allen, Jim Snidero, Gary Smulyan, Troy Roberts, Joel Spencer, and Ben Markley. Aside from playing in the US, Emma has also toured throughout South America, Cuba, and Mexico—most recently completing a two week-long residency performing and teaching classes in Brazil at the Federal University of Uberlândia.
